How We Rate Safe Canadian Casinos

Our ranking is built on documents. What has an operator written down, and does the document have a hole in it where the expensive term should be? That is a question a reader can check, which is why it is the question we score.

What we score

• Terms clarity. Whether the offer is stated completely, including the parts that cost the reader money. A match with no wagering multiple is a term withheld, and it costs position here.
• Bonus terms. Multiple, ceiling and qualifying deposit read together. A 777% headline at 30x and a 100% headline at 200x are not the same kind of offer, and the percentage is the less informative half of each.
• Withdrawal terms. Whether the conditions on getting money out are published before a deposit rather than discovered during a payout.
• Currency and dating. Figures in the currency the operator publishes, with our capture date. Two brands on our list publish in euros and we leave them in euros.
• Entry bar. The minimum qualifying deposit, because it sets what a first test costs. Across our current lineup that runs from C$1 to C$45.

What we did not measure

• Legal standing. No score here means an operator is lawful, licensed or approved anywhere. We verified no credential for any brand on the list.
• Payout speed. Not timed, so not ranked.
• Game fairness. No game tested, no return percentages published.
• Provincial availability. A deliberate omission. We do not know and will not guess.

Where a rating comes from

The score attached to each brand is our editorial assessment across those five criteria. It is a judgement about documents rather than a measurement, and it is not a statement that a brand is trustworthy or lawful.

When we revisit

Bonus terms move without notice and provincial arrangements change. We re-read the lineup's published terms on a rolling basis and date every figure. If an operator's own cashier disagrees with what we show, the cashier is right and we are out of date, so tell us at editor@lashscious.ca.
